For several decades, the "Clarinet Class" at the HAMU in Prague has been one of the most successful projects that the Czech performing arts school has to offer. This is evidenced by the countless prizes from national and international performance competitions and, above all, by the many graduates who have succeeded in a beautiful but demanding and competitive field.
The four soloists will present the most dramaturgically interesting works of Czech clarinet literature of the second half of the 20th century from their repertoires.
Let us mention that all the performers are the pick of the clarinet department of HAMU.
Juraj Filas: Little Slovak Rhapsody
Jana Krejčí – clarinet, Daniel Wiesner – piano
Josef Páleníček: Partita Piccola per Clarinetto e Pianoforte
Zlata Vohryzková – clarinet, Miloslava Machová – piano
Bohuslav Martinů: Sonatina for Clarinet and Piano, H 356
İlayda Yılmaz – clarinet, Miloslava Machová – piano
Hanuš Bartoň: Rhythms from the Street
Veronika Coganová – clarinet, Daniel Wiesner – piano

The outstanding Janáček Quartet celebrates 75 years of performing on Czech and international stages this year. In their only holiday concert in Prague, they will present a seemingly contrasting dramaturgy of works by the supreme romantic Johannes Brahms and the impressionist Claude Debussy.
Claude Debussy: String quartet in G – minor, op. 10
Johannes Brahms: Quintet for clarinet and strings in B – minor, op. 115
Irvin Venyš – clarinet, Janáček Quartet: Miloš Vacek, Richard Kružík, Jan Řezníček, Lukáš Polák

Final concert of the residents of the masterclasses
This traditional, audience favourite concert featuring the residents of the masterclasses
presents young, talented Czech and international musicians in collaboration with our great
pianists - Miloslava Machová and Daniel Wiesner. In addition to the classical repertoire
(W. A. Mozart, J. Brahms, J. V. Stamic, etc.), more and more often we hear modern compositions
by 20th century composers - Igor Stravinsky, Bohuslav Martinů, Paul Hindemith, Karel Husa
and others. The specific concert programme is always based on the current repertoire
of the participants of the project and each year it becomes a „living organism“ and an
energetic end to the whole festival.
