The cultural-educational chamber project Prague Clarinet Days continues with the 6th edition in 2017. The programme that is in the mean time being finalized will present top European ensembles such as chamber orchestra InterCamerata from polish Wroclaw, that will excell under the baton of the artistic leader Jan Jakub Bokun in the opening concert, or Clarimonia Ensemble, from German Bamberg presenting the new Project Don G, inspired by W. A. Mozart´s Don Giovanni and many others…
The principal part of the project comprises master classes and workshops, led by renowned lecturers, attended annually by young clarinet players from various countries. This year there are young musicians from Czech Republic, Slovakia, the whole of European Union Asia, or USA.
Our invitation has been accepted by professors Harri Mäki, from the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and Masatoshi Tanaka from Tokyo Gakugei Univerzity and Shobi University. Among the Czech artists Vlastimil Mareš and Irvin Venyš from the home Academy of performing arts in Prague have also excepted the invitation.
Within the evening programme, concerts for the general public take place in unique chamber halls in the historic center of Prague. These concerts have found devoted audiences during the past five years of the project’s existence.
Prague Clarinet Days is immediately followed and continued by the International Clarinet Festival in Žirovnice, which celebrates its 21st edition. More than four hundred young clarinet players from around the world have attended and performed the festival during the course in its 20 past years.
The quaint surroundings of the Žirovnice chateau provides a unique place for both the intensive continuation of the Prague master classes and presentation concerts that take place outdoors when the weather is favourable.
